Filipino restaurant opens in Soho

Kasa and Kin, a new all-day restaurant, bar, bakery and patisserie, has opened in Soho.

Established by the team behing Kensington's popular Romulo Café & Restaurant, the venue has capacity to seat 70 indoor diners and 20 more outdoors.

'Kasa' means home and 'kin' means family in Filipino, with the restaurant's name chosen to reflect the brand's ethos of community and belonging.

Michelin-starred chef and consultant Pat McDonald (The Savoy, Liberty of London) and Romulo's executive chef, Jeremy Villanueva, lead the restaurant's kitchen. Daytime offerings range from morning specials such as handmade cakes and freshly baked pandesal donuts filled with purple yam and coconut; while lunchtime picks include salads, sandwiches and create-your-own Imbento boxes.

The venue adopts a more relaxed atmosphere at night as the pinoy robata grill is prepped to deliver real food theatre, allowing guests to tuck into authentic Filipino BBQ sticks, served alongside a selection of artisinal cocktails.
