Benugo Bar & Kitchen opens in Coventry

Benugo Bar & Kitchen has officially opened today (7 March) at Warwick Arts Centre in Coventry.

The popular community venue – which is the largest arts centre outside of the capital – recently completed the largest transformation carried out in its 48-year history. The creative hub has been at the forefront of cultural life in the West Midlands since 1974, hosting an ongoing programme of world-class dance, theatre, stand-up comedy, film, spoken word, festivals, visual art and more.

Ben Warner, founder of Benugo, comments: "We can't wait to open our new Benugo Bar & Kitchen and bring our impeccably sourced, delicious food, carbon-neutral coffee, wide range of cold pressed juices and local beers to a new audience.

"We're delighted to be working in partnership with the prestigious Warwick arts Centre and look forward to welcoming our new friends to this beautiful space from March 7."

Situated in the building's new foyer, the restaurant will be open daily from 9am–11pm, with menu highlights including pastries, vegan overnight oats and French toast; freshly-made pizza; harissa and chilli pulled lamb shoulder, cucumber sambal and tzatziki on flat bread; and fregula, rocket, tomato salad and roasted lemon. The dessert selection includes Basque cheesecake and blood orange compote, with a special children's menu available at weekends.

The venue will also run a theatre bar, which will be well stocked with a range of classic and speciality drinks.

Doreen Forster, director of the Centre, comments: "We're so looking forward to welcoming Benugo Bar & Kitchen to Warwick Arts Centre – it's the perfect place to enjoy a meal before, or after, a performance, as well as being a destination in itself, perfect for meeting up with friends and family.

"With our amazing new cinemas, and superb reconfigured gallery spaces now open, the arrival of Benugo Bar & Kitchen completes our transformation."
