Vegan chef partners with meat alternative brand

Renowned plant-based chef Alexis Gauthier will feature vegan meat alternative brand Eatplanted on the menu at his restaurant 123V.

Chef Gauthier is known for bringing global dishes together on one menu at his restaurant, located in Fenwick of Bond Street.

The 123V 'AW' menu consists of three dishes showcasing Eatplanted products: Soba Noodle Tiger Bowl, featuring fresh soba noodles, kombu/miso broth, marinated chunks of Eatplanted original chicken, shiitake and enoki mushrooms, green chards and shichimi togarashi; Happy Duck Bao, soft bao buns filled with Eatplanted pulled original, pickled greens, cucumber, spring onion, light plum sauce and crispy shallots; and Happy Pig Bao, soft bao buns packed with Eatplanted pulled BBQ, roasted shiitake mushrooms, coriander, green chilli and spicy mayo.

Eatplanted products are made from 100% natural ingredients using a combination of proteins from peas, sunflowers and oats to create meat substitutes. They include dietary fibres while containing all essential amino acids.

Gauthier says of the collaboration: "The taste and texture of Eatplanted is phenomenal, showing that there are genuinely like-for-like meat alternatives available. It is clear that humans eating animal products must eventually be eliminated. But for people to be convinced to change, the world needs delicious plant-based food. We're here to help that happen."
