National Portrait Gallery announces two new restaurant openings

Ahead of reopening on 22 June, the National Portrait Gallery in London has announced new hospitality partnerships, with Audrey Green by Daisy Green Collection and The Portrait Restaurant by Richard Corrigan launching in the remodelled space.

From coffees, cakes and brunches to cocktails and fine dining, the gallery's new outlets will offer quality food and drink at varying price points.

Making use of newly restored space in the original 1896 building, Audrey Green by Daisy Green Collection will sit across the ground floor and vaults of the Weston Wing. The all-day café will have its own street-level entrance, providing a menu of artisan drinks, including Daisy's speciality coffee, as well as lunches and cakes.

Brunch and exhibition-inspired afternoon teas will be available by day, with the space transforming into a bar by night, serving guests a range of small plates and cocktails.

The reopening will also see the return of the Portrait Restaurant. Here, Richard Corrigan, acclaimed chef, restaurateur and star of the BBC's Great British Menu, will rekindle his partnership with the hospitality group. Searcys. The restaurant will be situated on the top floor of the Gallery, offering panoramic views of the city skyline.

Interiors will feature sculptures from the Gallery's collection, while menus will showcase seasonal ingredients from the British Isles. Corrigan's menus will take inspiration from signature dishes created throughout his culinary career.

The bar will focus on wines and classic cocktails, which guests can enjoy alongside an all-day snack menu. Diners can expect produce from land and sea, including Corrigan's Crispy Oyster Croque Monsieur and classic Irish soda bread from Bentley's Bakery.

Anna Starling, director of commercial at the National Portrait Gallery, comments: "As we prepare for our reopening, the National Portrait Gallery is delighted to announce its collaboration with Daisy Green Collection and Richard Corrigan. Together, we will be developing fantastic menus, events and experiences, and look forward to welcoming customers to our unique new spaces."
