Gino D'Acampo launches new flagship restaurant

Celebrity chef and restaurateur Gino D’Acampo has unveiled a brand-new venue in Leeds. The eatery is located in the Marriott Hotel on Boar Lane, which recently reopened following a £2m transformation.

The 160-cover restaurant, which is the new flagship site for the chef's Gino D'Acampo brand, boasts bold interiors unlike any other in his existing portfolio – which also includes First Street Bar & Kitchen and Luciano – and has been created by acclaimed international restaurant designer, Bernard Carroll.

Guests will be greeted by the impressive 13-metre backlit Onyx bar. A seated cicchetti counter surrounds the brass pizza oven, while the space also features bespoke statement wallpaper, white-washed brickwork, brass finishings and handmade pendant lighting.

The premium Italian restaurant will be open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and cocktails until late, with an outdoor terrace launching just in time for the warmer weather.

The à-la-carte menu, designed by D’Acampo and his team of chefs, and delivered by head chef Emanulele Diana, incorporates a generous selection of Italian classic dishes with a focus on quality and ingredient provenance. The menu sees 11 key sections – pane and olive; stuzzichini; bruschetta and antipasti; carpaccio and tartare; insalata; pasta and risotto; pizza al forno; pesce and crostacei, dalla terra; griglia; and contorni, with every dietary requirement catered for.

Signature dishes include arancine al funghi; linguine alle vongole; and vitello alla Milanese. Guests dining on a Sunday can also enjoy one of two Sunday roast options. An extensive dessert (dolci) menu provides the perfect finish to every dining occasion, including Gino’s own personal favourite, tiramisù.

D'Acampo says of the opening: "I couldn’t be happier to finally share our incredible new project with you all. I’m extremely proud of the work that’s gone into creating my new restaurant. Myself and our talented team are excited to welcome all our guests."
