Pizza Pilgrims to open 20th restaurant

Pizza Pilgrims has announced plans to launch its latest pizzeria in London’s Queen’s Park on Monday 3 July. Alongside the pizzeria, the group will open a brand-new deli concept selling exceptional Italian produce and dry store goods.

Diners who enter the venue will see the Pavesi pizza oven at its centre, next to an open-plan kitchen that allows guests to watch the pizzaioli at work. The 50-cover space is reminiscent of a traditional trattoria, decorated solely with reclaimed furniture.

Pizza Pilgrims also works closely with Harvest London, the sustainability-focused hydroponic vertical farming supplier that works closely with the team to grow fresh Basil for every pizzeria, dramatically reducing waste (and air miles).

At its core, as with all Pizza Pilgrims’ sites, will be the authentic, slow-proved Neapolitan pizzas, stemming from the recipe created by founders James and Thom Elliot as a result of their first ‘pizza pilgrimage’ around Italy 12 years ago.

The menu features classics like the Margherita –Mozzarella fior di latte, tomato, basil and olive oil; and Salsiccia e Friarielli – roasted Italian sausage and wild broccoletti on an olive oil base with smoked mozzarella and fresh chilli. The restaurant will also offer pizzas with a twist such as the Double Pepperoni and Spicy Honey; Mushroom and Truffle; or 8-cheese. Monthly guest pizzas will also feature.

James Elliot says of the upcoming launch: "We are so excited to be opening on potentially our new favourite street in London, Lonsdale Rd, Queen’s Park. The new restaurant is a beautiful building and we’ve already found the area be the kind of place where neighbours unthinkingly introduce themselves and welcome you!

"As always, we look forward to firing up the oven and serving some Neapolitan pizza to the good people of Queen’s Park. We will also be introducing a new “deli” concept where people can purchase amazing Italian ingredients to take away."
