M&B introduces flexible working app
Mitchells & Butlers (M&B) has launched a new flexible working app, M&B Flexible (powered by limber). The digital platform offers potential new team members the chance to pick their working hours, select the type of role they would like to work in and in which venue, with a choice of sites that span the entire M&B portfolio.
As one of the UK's largest operators of restaurants, pubs and bars, M&B has recognised the trend towards flexible working and wants to make sure it's at the forefront of this movement. By launching M&B Flexible, the group believes it can better compete in the employment market by offering an alternative way of working, promoting a more efficient use of talent by deploying a more fluid workforce.
Through M&B Flexible, prospective employees can sign up, complete a profile and apply to work shifts at the sites of their choice. There are no minimum requirements and they can work as little or as often as they like.
M&B Flexible is open to all hospitality workers, from those with industry experience to students, parents or those looking for part-time work. For more information, head to the M&B Flexible in the App Store or Play Store.
Craig Provett, director of compensation, benefits and employee relations at M&B, comments: "We’re really excited about the launch of M&B Flexible. It has been a long time in the making and we look forward to seeing new team members sign up through it. At Mitchells & Butlers, it's the people and culture that make working life fulfilling and we're passionate about giving our people the support and flexibility they need. In the first phase of our rollout with limber, their technology has enabled us to build flexible teams of talent who have gone on to complete 15,000 shifts at our businesses in London. We’ve really enjoyed working with them on this project – their ability to innovate is second to none and we’re delighted to be partnering with them via their white-label technology."
