Bill's half-year results reveal highest ever sales

British restaurant and bar chain Bill's has today (4 September) announced its half-year (HY) results for the six months ended 30 June. The financial update confirms that the group has seen its highest ever like-for-like (LFL) sales for its current trading sites at £45.3m, up 4.5% on HY22. Group EBITDA is at £2.45m – a £2.55m increase on HY22.

Trading throughout the period has been ahead of expectations following a comprehensive review of the estate and business goals. The actions helped the business lay out a clear 2023 strategy centred on the group's 'Everyone leaves happy' mantra, with the team remaining focused on guest experiences and group engagement.

"Despite the backdrop of the challenging trading environment, I am pleased with our performance at the half year with all sites generating higher EBITDA than last year," says Bill's MD Tom James.

"The team have been working incredibly hard repositioning the brand towards the prominent trends we are seeing including Gen Z, families and breakfast and brunch daytime trace, and we have welcomed a staggering 2.67 million people this year so far," he adds. "We have overhauled the website so guests can experience a smooth booking journey, resulting in website traffic and bookings up 22% on last year and the business is now on a firm footing for future growth and focused expansion. I am now excited for the rest of this year and beyond."
