Barbican Bar & Grill opens at the Barbican Centre
A new restaurant and bar has launched at London's Barbican Centre, serving a menu of burgers, plant-based dishes and light bites, along with cocktails and a carefully curated wine list.
Part of Searcys' collection of restaurants and bars, the Barbican Bar & Grill, situated on the first floor of the performing arts centre, offers a welcoming bar and dining space and an outdoor terrace for the summer, while the greenery scattered throughout gives a nod to the Barbican conservatory next door.
Great for casual lunches and pre/post-theatre dining, group bookings and festive get-togethers, the menu offers signature burgers made with British meats and locally sourced ingredients. Guests can choose from classics such as the crispy buttermilk chicken burger with garlic mayo, to more adventurous options such as the Hawaiian burger with pineapple and red chilli salsa, or the souvlaki chicken with red peppers, spring onions and tzatziki. Plant-based patties are also on offer.
Other dishes include a selection of snacks such as crispy tofu nuggets and spicy ginger and chilli chicken bites, as well as salad with a choice of charred halloumi or crispy marinated chicken, along with vegan options such as tofu and mango.
Cocktails created by the venue's general manager Jonet Espinal are available at the bar, including bourbon and apple fizz and cinnamon tequila sour. Experts in all things Champagne since 1847, Searcys Selected Cuvée Champagne, along with other vintages, are available.
