Former Soho House COO opens New York-style Italian

Martin Kuczmarski, formerly chief operating officer (COO) for the Soho House group, has launched his first solo venture: a new Italian restaurant and bar located on Dover Street in Mayfair.

The Dover serves New York-style Italian dishes and martinis into the early hours, reminiscent of a bygone fine dining era that Kuczmarski hopes to bring back to the capital.

Designed by Milanese designers Quincoces & Drago, The Dover has a contemporary, art deco vibe featuring dim lights, curved American walnut panelling and a black and white marble chequered floor.

Head chef Valentino Pepe, who trained with Alan Yau and Gennaro Vitto, has designed a menu of classics such as prawn cocktail, beef tartare, chopped salad, spaghetti and meatballs, beef arrosto and lobster ravioli.

Tobias Smithson, previously of Mark Hix and The Ned fame, has assumed the role of general manager, leading a team dedicated to providing excellent service and friendly hospitality.

Evenings at The Dover feature a true vinyl soundtrack with dedicated record selections into the early hours, taking diners on a journey through classic funk, soul and disco.
