Fish & Bubbles debuts in Notting Hill
A brand-new Italian seafood panino and aperitivo bar is coming to Notting Hill next week.
The brothers behind West London's La Mia Mamma and Made in Italy are expanding their portfolio with the launch of Fish & Bubbles on 28 February.
Peppe and Angelo Corsaro are bringing sustainability-sourced gourmet fish panino alongside fritto misto, fish and seafood sharing boards, as well as an exclusively Italian wine list and aperitivo menu to Notting Hill's Kensington Park Road.
Open daily, Fish & Bubbles offers 30 covers and caters for walk-ins, takeaway and delivery via Deliveroo. By day, lunch and light bites can be ordered from a quick-service kiosk or via a mobile app, while evenings will see the space transform into a relaxed bar, with guests ordering via a QR code with table service from the team. The kiosk-style service ensures accessible prices without the need to compromise on the quality of ingredients. Guests will be able to dine for a cost of £20-£25 per person.
The menu
Unique to London, the panino di mare menu features a traditional freshly baked Italian rosetta bun stuffed with fish and seafood fillings based on authentic dishes, including Polp Fiction – slow-cooked octopus in a rustic Apulian tomato and basil sauce, fried crisps, 'nduja and mascarpone mayo (£16.50); and Tuna Turner – cacio e pepe basil cream, tuna tartare, courgettes, roasted tomatoes, stracciatella and rocket (£14).
Other dishes include a raft of crude di mare such as salmon and tuna tartare as well as the caviar of shrimps, gambero rosso, plus a selection of fritto miso and an Italian take on poké bowls.
"My fondest memories of growing up in Sicily are the beach days with family followed by aperitivo, feasting on the best catch of the day, plenty of wine and a fully loaded panino," says founder Peppe Corsaro. "Fish & Bubbles brings an authentic yet fresh take on the iconic Italian sandwich, using Italian fish recipes passed down through generations and adding quality ingredients into a traditional rosetta bun for a bite like no other. There will also be fritto misto boards, homemade infused negronis and Italian wine served throughout the day and into the evening. We look forward to bringing a touch of Italian coastal culture to London."
