Banana Tree prepares for Portsmouth opening

A Pan-Asian restaurant chain is preparing to launch a brand-new venue in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth.

The Big Table Group-owned brand Banana Tree will celebrate the opening on Sunday 24 March by giving away 1,000 free katsu curries to guests.

Banana Tree is well-known for its Pad Thai, ramen and katsu dishes, as well as its vast vegan and vegetarian offering.

Situated in Canalside, the restaurant has seating for 130 guests inside and a further 120 outdoors. It will offer the brand's All-Day Menu, as well as the Express Lunch Menu and Lunchtime Tapas sets.

Banana Tree marketing director Tom Patrick comments: "We're so excited to be opening our restaurant in Portsmouth, which will be our 20th restaurant, and we couldn't have secured a better location! With an all-day menu taking you on a tour of southeast Asian cuisine, we know that there really is something for everyone.

"The 35-strong team have been training hard in our sister restaurants throughout the country for several weeks, and now our team is training on-site. We think our Portsmouth restaurant could be our best looking one yet!"
