Rohit Ghai announces new restaurant

Following huge success with Kutir and Manthan, revered chef Rohit Ghai, along with his business partner Abhi Sangwan, are set to expand their restaurant portfolio with the launch of Vatavaran.

The luxury Indian dining destination will reside on Beauchamp Place, set to officially open its doors on Thursday, 7 November.

Ghai's culinary influence is recognised worldwide, with his concepts including Rivayat in Marrakech, Aangan in Muscat's Shangri-La Al Husn, and Iksah Iksha in Doha. His leadership of Gymkhana in London also cemented his reputation as a pioneer of modern Indian cuisine.

Vatavaran, meaning 'atmosphere' in Sanskrit, will draw inspiration from the landscapes of the Himalayas. With four individually styled levels featuring live entertainment, guests can expect an immersive day-to-night experience.

The venue will also encompass Shikhar – an intimate cocktail bar. Named after the Sanskrit word for 'mountain peak', Shikhar will offer a cocktail menu crafted by Sangwan himself, paying homage to the spices found in the Indian mountains. Inspired by the tea estates nestled across the landscape, the serves will showcase herbs including juniper and saffron.
