The Dally celebrates strong first year
The Dally, a private members' club located in Islington, has shared a trading update for the six months to 30 September 2024, with membership levels 55% ahead of expectations and on track to grow considerably over the next few years.
The venue has seen a positive response to the launch of Margo's – its 32-cover seasonal modern Mediterranean restaurant led by head chef Stefano Cirillo. The concept introduced its autumn menu last month, which increased covers by 66% in September compared to June. Margo's will soon launch new specials that have been chosen by The Dally's members to drive further bookings.
The group opened its first location earlier this year, having secured the 4,000 sq ft, three-storey venue on Upper Street in 2023. Its first-year success has been partly driven by significant demand among members to enjoy events held in the club's collective spaces. From supper clubs to book launches, to quizzes, live comedy and music, these functions have effectively driven footfall and food and beverage purchases on site.
On average, one in four members visit The Dally weekly. They can bring with them up to three guests, which has created new opportunities to introduce prospective members and drive membership enquiries. Guests make up 33% of all visits overall.
Caroline Baldwin, co-founder and CEO of the business, comments: "The Dally's start to life has been really encouraging. Today, we have a fantastic venue that is warm and inviting, a unique restaurant in Margo's and a programme of events and activities that have been well received. This has driven higher than anticipated membership levels and we're also seeing positive trends in terms of repeat visits and food and beverage spend."
