Caffè Concerto to open first northern outpost

European-style restaurant chain Caffè Concerto will open a new venue in Leeds this month (Friday, 22 November), with the restaurant standing as its first branch up north.

The Leeds site will be the brand's 22nd outlet in the UK and its second location outside of London. The brand already operates 20 restaurants in Greater London and one in Birmingham’s Grand Central Station. In recent years, the group has expanded internationally with establishments in France, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

The brand, founded in London in 1996, is known for its Italian-inspired menu, opulent cake displays, and live music events.

The new 200 sq ft restaurant will replace the former Tommy Hilfiger unit in the Victoria Gate shopping centre. The space will be transformed with the brand’s signature decor, featuring chandeliers, velvet upholstery and brass detailing.

The venue will offer 138 covers and outdoor seating on Harewood Street for an alfresco dining experience.

Diners can expect a bespoke menu featuring the restaurant’s best-sellers including afternoon tea, salmon niçoise, rigatoni concerto with truffled oil, and a wide range of luxury pâtisseries. The restaurant will also offer Caffè Concerto’s bespoke, handmade celebration cakes for all occasions, including weddings, birthdays and corporate events.

Caffè Concerto director, Maher Al Hajjar, comments: “We're incredibly excited to be opening our first restaurant in Yorkshire, in Leeds. At Caffè Concerto we promise an irresistible allure with a carefully selected menu, delicious cakes and an exquisite wine selection, which we think the people of Leeds will love.

“The decision to open in Leeds, particularly in Victoria Gate, was influenced by the vibrant atmosphere of the area and the opportunity to bring Caffè Concerto’s unique and elegant dining experience to a completely new audience.”
