Flat Iron to open latest branch in Victoria

Flat Iron will launch a new site in Victoria on Tuesday, 10 December. The restaurant is located at Terminus Place, directly opposite Victoria Station.

The menu will be led by the ‘Flat Iron’ steak, which is taken from the often overlooked feather blade. Signature sides will also be offered, including beef dripping chips, creamed spinach, truffled macaroni cheese and crispy bone marrow garlic mash. Guests can also choose a cut of steak from the rotating board of specials including a Wagyu steak of the day, Scottish bavette or triple cheese truffle burger, made using beef from the Flat Iron herd in Thirsk, Yorkshire.

The drinks menu will feature a curated selection of wines, including Flat Iron’s own Malbec, specially blended by the team using grapes grown in the Limoux area of the Languedoc in southern France. It will also offer a range of draft beers, cocktails and house fizzes.

The 140-cover restaurant sits across two floors within a three-storey Victorian-style mansion, originally built as shop units directly above Victoria Tube Station. On the ground floor, steel screens glazed with decorative glass divide the space, with cosy seating accented with vintage cabinets and reclaimed chairs. The first floor is arranged with irregular-sized rooms, divided by reclaimed glazed mahogany fire station doors and large bay windows overlooking the station.

Speaking of the upcoming launch, Flat Iron’s head of beef, Fred Smith, comments: “Our goal has always been to make great steak accessible to everyone. We can’t wait to bring our offer to a new part of London, in such a prominent location.”
