Flat Iron preps for Hammersmith opening
A steakhouse brand with venues in London, Cambridge and Leeds is preparing for the launch of its new Hammersmith outpost on 11 April.
Located on the Broadway, the new branch of Flat Iron offers 120 covers. The menu is led by the 'flat iron' steak, taken from the often overlooked featherblade, known for its flavour, tenderness and juiciness when seam butchered. Signature sides include beef dripping chips, creamed spinach, truffled macaroni cheese and crispy bone marrow garlic mash.
A rotating board of specials will also be available, including a Wagyu steak of the day, Scottish bavette and the bearnaise burger, made using beef from Flat Iron's own herd in Thirsk, Yorkshire.
The concise wine menu includes the brand's own Malbec, specially blended by the team from grapes grown in the Limoux area of the Languedoc in southern France, alongside pours from France, South Africa and Italy. Other drinks on the menu include a selection of draft beers and Flat Iron's signature cocktails.
A sought-after location
The restaurant is located moments away from iconic music venues such as Shepherd's Bush Empire and the Eventim Apollo, along with plenty of transport links. In keeping with Flat Iron's approach to design, the restaurant interior has been stripped back to reveal the true nature of the space. In a nod to the area's blacksmith history and folklore, ironwork details have been added throughout, including forged brackets and exposed ironwork.
Speaking of the opening, Flat Iron's head of beef, Fred Smith, comments: " Our passion for high quality, accessible steak remains at the forefront of everything we do at Flat Iron. We are looking forward to sharing this with new and old friends in our new restaurant in Hammersmith."
