PizzaExpress launches grab-and-go concept

PizzaExpress has opened its first PizzaExpress Pod, a grab-and-go concept located at Tesco Extra in Southampton.

Positioned outside of the Tesco Extra main entrance, the PizzaExpress Pod allows customers to order on the move via an open kitchen and collection window. Launching simultaneously with delivery partners, the Pod also allows guests in the local area to order pizzas to their homes. 

Brand favourites are available at the Pod, including the American Hot and the Padana, as well as a £9.95 pizza and soft drink lunch offer. Tesco Clubcard members can also redeem their points at the Pod.

The PizzaExpress Pod is just one of the brand’s growth drivers as it continues to expand its retail range and grow its international presence. The group aims to own and operate 1,000 pizzerias globally by 2030.

Paula Mackenzie, of PizzaExpress, comments: "2024 has been a year of growth and new openings and we’re showing no signs of slowing down as we come into the festive season. Not only have our three new pizzerias across the country – London Gatwick, Oxford Summertown, The ICC in Birmingham – been a huge hit but now, our PizzaExpress Pod brings something completely new and eye-catching for our pizza lovers and Tesco- goers.”
