Hawksmoor announces return of 'The Big Matt'

The Big Matt is returning to menu at Hawksmoor. After going viral in NYC, the burger is back as a lunchtime special in restaurants across the UK and Ireland.
A customer favourite, The Big Matt was created by Hawksmoor's group executive chef Matt Brown, featuring two dry-aged beef patties, double American cheese, Hawksmoor special sauce, shredded lettuce, onions and homemade pickles, served with beef dripping fries.
The burger started as a wry tribute to a classic but soon became a cult hit. Hawksmoor claims it has been one of the most requested items on the menu since it was first introduced in 2017.
The Big Matt (£19.50) sits among a range of new lunch options available in Hawksmoor for the next six months. Other specials include a 35-day dry-aged rump steak and Café de Paris butter, served with beef-dripping fries and a steakhouse salad (£26), and roast hake with woodland mushrooms, creamed potatoes and lemon butter sauce (£26). Or charcoal-roasted chicken with roast garlic, lemon and parsley (£24), and a vegan option of charcoal-roasted butternut squash, shiitake and oyster mushrooms with cashew ricotta (£10).
