Radisson Blu Glasgow awarded Green Key certification

Radisson Blu Hotel Glasgow has been awarded the Green Key certification – a globally recognised eco-label that sets the standard for environmental responsibility and sustainable operations within hospitality.
Awarded by the environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful, the certification places Radisson Blu Hotel Glasgow among an elite group of tourism businesses in Scotland leading the charge towards a more sustainable future.
Following a thorough audit process, the award affirms that the hotel meets stringent criteria for energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation and environmental stewardship.
A period of progress
In the last 12 months, the hotel has introduced a range of initiatives aimed at reducing its environmental impact, including the installation of motion sensors and energy-efficient lighting, an AI-powered food waste analytics system and the implementation of ‘Go Green PMI’ software to provide tailored recommendations for resource management.
The venue has also adopted the Klimato system, which calculates the carbon footprint of each menu item and suggests improvements to enhance the sustainability of the food and beverage offerings. Additional measures include specialised Nespresso capsule recycling, the replacement of plastic water bottles with glass, staff sustainability training and renewed BREEAM accreditation – a widely recognised building certification.
Hina Rubbani-Mills, general manager of Radisson Blu Glasgow, comments: "We are proud to say sustainability is at the core of everything we do at Radisson Blu Hotel Glasgow. From reducing our carbon footprint with initiatives like Klimato to fostering partnerships with local businesses, we are proud to contribute to a greener tourism industry while maintaining the high standards our guests expect. Our Green Key certification reinforces our ongoing commitment to responsible tourism and a sustainable future."
