Pizza Pilgrims prepares for Chelsea opening

Pizza Pilgrims has confirmed that its latest outpost will launch on King's Road, Chelsea, on 18 November. 

The 2,200 sq ft pizzeria will transport guests to a 1950s beach bar in Capri. The ground floor will offer space for 40 guests, featuring ornate tiles and striped parasols with a focal point being a playful 'Chelsea Flower Show' arch made entirely out of pizza bags. The ceiling will be an ode to Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel Creation of Adam, with the addition of a pizza shared between God and Adam.

A basement dining room will seat an additional 32 guess and will feature an Amalfi lemon grove under a pergola that will transform into 'Cinema Paradiso' – London's first lemon grove cinema. A calendar of tickets screenings will be shown regularly, with details first announced to subscribers of the Pizza Pilgrims Chelsea newsletter. 

The menu will echo the brand's other pizzerias, offering signature Neapolitan-style pizza crafted from 72-hour double-fermented dough that delivers a pillowy base. Pizza Pilgrims' favourites such as the Margherita, Fiorentina and the Double Pepperoni & Spicy Honey, alongside specialities such as the Eight-Cheese pizza and the Carbonara pizza with crunchy strands of al dente spaghetti, will be available.  

Founders Thom and James Elliot say of the upcoming opening: "Bringing pizza Pilgrims to Chelsea feels like a real milestone for us. Our dad ran a pub on King's Road back in the day, and the area has always pulled us in. We have now secured the perfect corner site to house our Capri-style pizzeria and bring the joy of Pizza Pilgrims to one of London's most iconic roads. A true neighbourhood location – it's a community we can't wait to be a part of."
