Dishoom adds to delivery-only portfolio
Cambridge residents can now order food for delivery from Dishoom, as the Bombay-inspired concept opens its second delivery-only kitchen outside of the capital.
Following the success of its Brighton delivery model, Dishoom Cambridge is serving dishes from the cafés' menus between 12pm-10.20pm daily, covering postcodes such as Eddington and Chesterton, Barnwell, Romsey and Newnham, from Trumpington to Cherry Hinton, and most neighbourhoods in between.
The Dishoom delivery menu has been specially curated to ensure all food travels well, and includes keema pau, chicken buby and house black daal. Vegetarian options include pau bhaji, mattar paneer, jackfruit biryani – and vegans can enjoy samosas, bowls of chole, greens and basmati kheer for pudding.
Special delivery-only dishes include the newly-launched lunchtime kathi rolls (chicken or paneer in makhani sauce, wrapped in wholewheat paratha along with green peppers, red onion and mint chutney), as well as newest delivery dish, pepper lamb curry (tender lamb with black pepper, green chilli, garlic and ginger, cooked with red and yellow capsicums in masala sauce).
Soft drinks available all day, every day include Bombay sodas, Limca and Thums Up, and Dishoom’s mango lassi. Alcoholic drinks are served from 5pm Monday to Friday and all day at the weekend, and include Dishoom’s own IPA.
All items are packaged as sustainably as possible, using cardboard from sustainably managed sources, reclaimed and renewable sugar cane pulp packaging, and carbon-neutral PLA (a smart compostable bioplastic made from plants), all of which are recyclable once rinsed or compostable.
Dishoom now sends food direct to the doors of patrons from six delivery kitchens in London and one in Brighton, as well as from the café kitchens in Kensington, Carnaby, Edinburgh and Manchester. The delivery kitchens have created an additional 50 roles in the company.
