Restaurants to battle market traders at Street Food Championships

Dine Out's brand new street food competition will see chefs from Fridays, Las Iguanas and many more take on market stall masters, including Deeney’s, in a live cook-off next month.
The Street Food Championships, launched in partnership with Dine Out's sister title OOH Magazine, is a one-day cooking extravaganza being held at London Shenley Club (near Watford) on 30 September 2021.
Chefs could enter themselves into one of four cuisine rounds – Pan-Asian, Latin American, European and Americana – for the chance to win £1,000 and the coveted title Street Food Dish of the Year.
The competition now has 15 shortlisted finalists who will cook their signature dishes for judges on the day. They will also take on several head-to-head technical challenges, including the Wings Round sponsored by Frank's RedHot Sauce.
“We were really impressed with the level of creativity from our finalists,” says Rosanna Spence, editor of Dine Out. “There’s an incredible range of diverse dishes going up against each other for the big prize. In a time of very little international travel, we’re looking forward to being taken on a global voyage through our tastebuds. Good luck to all our finalists – we can’t wait to celebrate with you next month.”
Those interested in attending the live final can register their interest via the website.
