Cicchetti coming to Knightsbridge in spring

Restaurant group San Carlo will open its award-winning concept Cicchetti in Knightsbridge in April 2022.

The move is the latest in a series of growth developments for the family-owned business, with the opening standing as the group's 25th restaurant and the third Cicchetti in the capital. The new opening follows the success of the brand in Piccadilly and Covent Garden, as well as the recent launch of Isola in St Christopher's place in November.

The contemporary Italian dining concept will be open seven days a week, offering a fresh take on cicchetto – the authentic Italian plates typically served in traditional bácari (informal bars) in Venice.

Designed for sharing, dishes use fresh and seasonal ingredients, mostly native to Italy. Alongside a selection of new signature plates unique to Cicchetti in Knightsbridge, the menu will include a range of fresh pasta – such as the much-loved truffle ravioli served at Cicchetti Piccadilly and Covent Garden – and pizza, fish and meat-focused carne plates. A wide selection of Italian wines, prosecco, spirits and cocktails will also be available.

Located on Hans Road, adjacent to Harrods, and spread across two storeys, the 286m sq space will feature a 100-cover dining room, a private dining room seating 18 and a standalone bar. The interiors, by London and LA design studio Fettle, will be inspired by classical Venetian architecture and the work of some of the city’s most influential residents such as Carlo Scarpa.

On the launch, managing director Marcello Distefano says: “We are utterly delighted to be opening a third branch of Cicchetti in the capital and to have secured such a landmark site for the restaurant to call home. Located just a stone’s throw from Harrods and our legendary Knightsbridge restaurant, Signor Sassi, the opening really is the product of the success that the brand has had in Piccadilly and Covent Garden, and we know that it will be greeted with the same warmth and love we’ve had there.”
