M Canary Wharf launching in July

M Restaurants' third venue will open in Canary Wharf on 6 July.

The new dining destination will reside in the 220m-high Newfoundland, located on the banks of the River Thames and the waterways of Canary Wharf.

Founded by CEO Martin Williams and culinary director Mike Reid in 2014, M already has two established grill restaurants in its estate, one on Threadneedle Street and another on Victoria Street, known to offer exclusive cuts of wagyu beef. All M restaurants provide 100% carbon neutral beef, achieved through work to reduce carbon footprint at source.

Extending over the ground and first floors, M Canary Wharf will include a destination bar serving sensory cocktails, a 180-cover restaurant, two private dining rooms and a wine tasting room, the Taste of La Petite M Café, as well as an exclusive private members' lounge. All will be surrounded by a Provence-inspired terrace filled with lemon trees and lavender.

The 10,000st ft venue features an interior inspired by the vintage yachts found in the French Riviera, and is encased in a 360-degree floor to ceiling glass.

For the new launch, Reid has created a menu that showcases M's signature dishes and premium beef. A protégé of Roux and Ramsay, Reid's culinary foundations combine with a contemporary style of cooking, using ice, smoke, coal and wood to elevate each ingredient.

From the menu, small plates celebrate the best of the sea with dishes such as cobia tartare; octopus carpaccio; and lobster, wasabi and avocado salad. Provençal flavours will be seen with olives, artichokes, tomatoes, peaches and lemons throughout, and dishes including seabass with garlic, herbs and lemon, and breaded rib of veal with anchovies, capers and parsley.
