Gaucho celebrates Newcastle opening with star-studded event
On Thursday 9 March, Gaucho Newcastle threw a star-studded party in honour of its charity partners, the Sir Graham Wylie Foundation and NUFC Foundation Community Hub Nucastle, with the new venue officially opening its doors on Saturday 11 March.
Celebrating the arrival of Gaucho in Newcastle, the restaurant along – with Alan Shearer and Lee Westwood – hosted an opening party to raise further funds and drive awareness of its £10,000 donation to its charity partners.
Tango dancers Emma Lucia Reyes and Carlos Cisneros provided entertainment for the night
Current first team players of north east clubs joined local celebrities Faye Tozer, Jill Halfpenny, Charlie Hardwick and legends of sport Patrick Roberts, Dan Burn, Mateo Carreras, Steve Watson, Darius Defoe and Steve Harmison at an event which saw polo ponies and tango dancing.
Entertainment was provided by local resident DJ Suzee Wood as well as an exclusive performance from iconic DJ The Shapeshifters. Gaucho also surprised guests with a performance from World Champion Tango dancers Emma Lucia Reyes and Carlos Cisneros. Winners at the UK Tango Championships and the World Tango Competition in Buenos Aires, the couple have recently performed on Strictly Come Dancing alongside the Strictly professionals.
