Fazenda announces appointments for debut London restaurant

South American restaurant group Fazenda launches its debut London restaurant today (2 August), announcing three senior appointments to the team at 100 Bishopsgate.

Joining as general manager is Sergio Labarile Polizzi, who has been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years. He joins Fazenda from his role as assistant general manager for The Groucho Club, having previously learnt his craft with the likes of Gaucho and Harrods.

Michela Castiglioni has been recruited as bar manager, overseeing the venue's standalone bar area. Castiglioni spent the last five years at Disrepute – which saw her join as supervisor and leave as general manager.

Suso Lopez (pictured) joins the group as head chef, where he will work under the culinary guidance of Fazenda's long-term executive chef Francisco Martinez. Having studied culinary arts for five years in Spain and two years in Italy, Lopez went on to work in restaurants across Europe, South America and Asia, before his most recent appointment as head chef of BiBo by Dani Garcia.

Fazenda's London restaurant spans two floors and has a capacity for 170 diners. It also has three private dining rooms, a mezzanine lounge and a standalone bar and lounge with alfresco tables for summer drinking.
