Elite brands make inaugural cocktail competition final
Some of the UK's finest restaurant, pub and bar brands have been revealed as the finalists of the very first Classic Cocktail Competition.
Representatives from Gusto, The Alchemist, Loungers, The Coconut Tree, Lucky Voice and more impressive businesses will now go head-to-head at the final, which takes place on Monday 16 October at Drake & Morgan, King’s Cross, London.
The event’s mission is to encourage bartenders to spend more time thinking about how to serve spectacular classic cocktails to UK customers, perfecting this essential part of a hospitality drinks menu.
"The Classic Cocktail Competition will give our team a platform for showcasing their skills and enthusiasm for creating compelling drinks, as well as an opportunity to learn from their peers across the industry," says Charlie Elek, managing director of Lucky Voice. "We’re delighted that Filippo Resmini is a finalist, representing Lucky Voice, and we look forward to cheering him on during the final on 16 October."
On the day of the final, 15 elite bartenders will be required to make six different classic cocktails for a panel of judges, with every drink served in their own signature style. There will be awards for each of the best cocktail categories, as well as an overall winner, who will take home a £1,000 cash prize.
The event is sponsored by Sanpellegrino, Anton Studio Designs, Les vergers Boiron, Maldon Salt, Ms. Better's Bitters, Oggs and Whitley Neill Gin.
