Pizza Pilgrims launching in Leeds

Pizza Pilgrims will launch its latest pizzeria in Leeds on 13 November. To welcome locals and visitors, the brand will give away 1,000 free slices on Monday 6 November from 12pm.

The group is bringing its signature Neapolitan-style pizza to the city. Pizza Pilgrims' dough is double fermented over 72 hours to give a pillowy, puffed crust. Menu highlights include the Margherita Extra-Extra with datterini tomatoes, creamy burrata and fresh basil pesto, and the Americana, topped with hot dogs and French fries. The Double Pepperoni with spicy honey and the Carbonara with roasted guanciale bacon, Pecorino cheese, egg yolk and al dente pasta will also be available.

The Leeds opening marks the group's 10-year anniversary. Brand founders (and brothers) James and Thom Elliot established the group in 2012 after a six-week 'pizza pilgrimage', travelling the length of Italy in a three-wheeled tuk-tuk to explore the nation's best pizza offerings.

"I am so excited to be opening a pizzeria in Leeds," says James. "My first job in pizza was 15 years ago at an Italian restaurant called Salvo's in Headingley whilst at uni and it's great to be back! We're creating a really fun space that will transport people to a holiday in the south of Italy. Pizza is all about fun and so we are excited to be building our most fun pizzeria yet!"
