Rosa's Thai coming to Guildford

Rosa's Thai restaurant group will open the doors to a brand-new venue on Friary Street in Guildford on 5 February. The 70-cover site is located just a few moments from The Friary in the heart of town.

The restaurant will hold a soft launch to celebrate the occasion, offering 50% off food to all guests who book a table between 23 January and 4 February.

The brand was co-founded by Saiphin and Alex Moore in 2008, bringing Saiphin's Thai cooking to London's East End. The chef's love of serving Thai food began at a young age when, at just 14, she opened a noodle shop in Khao Kho, Thailand, using produce from her parents' farm. She then opened a restaurant in Hong Kong and spent 18 years honing her culinary skills, before relocating to London and establishing a market stall on Brick Lane in 2007, opening the first bricks-and-mortar restaurant one year later.

The original Spitalfields venue is still successfully trading after 15 years, while the group's estate has grown to 38 restaurants nationwide.

Guests to the Guildford venue can expect menu highlights such as feasting starter platters, drunken noodles and pork skewers with tamarind sauce. Vegans and vegetarians can enjoy dishes including stir-fried aubergine in yellow bean sauce, creamy tom ka coconut soup with Asian mushrooms and hand-rolled vegetable spring rolls.

CEO Gavin Adair says of the launch: "I'm so pleased to be opening our doors in Guildford. It feels like somewhere we should already be! We can't wait to get our woks fired up and start serving our amazing curries, noodles and stir-fries. What a great way to start the year. Sawaddee Bhee Mai Guildford!"
