Lina Stores coming to South Kensington

A London-based restaurant group with branches in Soho, King's Cross, The City, Marylebone and Clapham will open a new outpost in South Kensington in spring.

Located on the corner of Exhibition Road and Thurloe Place, the new 140-cover restaurant for Lina Stores will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, with its menu including the brand's signature handmade pasta, antipasti, secondi and dolci.

Residing in the heart of Brompton Design District, the venue will be moments away from some of London's most popular museums, including the V&A and Natural History Museum

The launch will mark the group's seventh location in the capital, with a central, open-theatre kitchen providing views of the chefs at work. Inspired by the restaurants and espresso bars of Milan and Rome, the connecting bar will be a spot for a quick espresso in the day or a leisurely Negroni at night.

The menu, starting with breakfast, will include sweet and savoury options such as maple-roasted granola with yoghurt and berries, truffle scrambled eggs with toasted sourdough, and Tuscan sausage and fried egg panini, alongside rich espresso and freshly squeezed juices.

The lunch and dinner offering will include the brand's signature dishes, such as lumache with broad beans, guanciale and mint; Jerusalem artichoke agnolotti with lemon burnt butter; and Mafaldine alla carbonara. New additions to the antipasti menu will include stracciatella with escarole and anchovy, served with carta da musical; and mussel and 'nduja marinara on grilled focaccia.

Dolci such as rhubarb, almond and brown butter cake with Zabaglione cream, or a lemon meringata, will also be available, accompanied by a biodynamic wine list from all corners of Italy.

Outside the restaurant will be a 22-cover wrap-around terrace, as well as an additional 28-cover terrace on the square to the front of the venue.

"We are incredibly excited to bring Lina Stores to South Kensington this spring," says Masha Rener, head chef of Lina Stores. "It's both a popular destination for those visiting the city but also has a strong sense of local community, and the neighbourhood therefore feels like the perfect location for our first restaurant in West London, and we're thrilled to welcome guests old and new to our new home."
