Chef Anthanasios Kargatzidis is behind the fusion concept based in Harrods. This is Assembly's first UK opening, following the Dubai launch in August and Riyadh in September.

Kargatzidis is known for his past restaurant ventures such as Baron in Beirut, Greek pop-up à la grecque in Dubai and Costa Fria in the Portuguese coastal town of Ericeira.

"I fell in love with food at an early age and have been cooking across the world ever since," says the chef. "I'm delighted this journey brings me to London where my menu at Assembly showcases Eastern Mediterranean cuisine combined with Levantine flavours in all its excellence."

The menu is designed to be shared, as is traditional in Eastern Mediterranean culture. Many dishes showcase the smoky flavour synonymous with the region's grilling techniques. It includes mezze starters and meats such as ox cheek, lamb kofte and beef finger, as well as fish dishes, scallops and squid, served with a variety of wine and Champagne.

Ashley Saxton, director of restaurants and kitchens at Harrods, comments: "Harrods is a culinary destination that offers a diverse portfolio of global flavours and expertise, and we are proud to bring chef Tommy's unique Eastern Mediterranean cuisine and gourmet Levantine flavours to the UK for guests to enjoy alongside exceptional cocktails, as well as live music and entertainment."
