Los Mochis announces flagship rooftop restaurant

A Mexican-Japanese restaurant brand has announced the launch of a new flagship rooftop restaurant at 100 Liverpool Street in London.

Los Mochis, a brand owned and operated by the Thesleff Group, will launch its London City venue on 11 April. Founded by Markus Thesleff, the opening will bring the Pan-Pacific pairing of Mexican-Japanese cuisine from West London to Broadgate, with its vibrant cocktails and signature dishes coming to the brand's largest site to date.

Building on the success of its Notting Hill location, which launched in 2021, the new 14,000 sq ft restaurant will sprawl across the 9th-floor rooftop. The site will boast a bar, restaurant, two private dining rooms and a 3,000 sq ft terrace with panoramic views of the city.

The Los Mochis experience

On arrival, guests will be greeted by a 24ft hand-painted mural by Mexican artist, Tellaeche. There will also be a seven-metre curated wine and sake room before entering the Agaveria Bar & Lounge, where low banquettes sweep across the wall, set against wall-to-ceiling windows.

The main bar will take centre stage, offering one of the largest selections of fine wines, rare tequilas and mezcals in Europe. The cocktail list will take inspiration from the brand's dual heritage, with innovative serves including the signature Los Mochis Tommy's and Pepiño Jalapeño Margarita from Los Mochis Notting Hill, alongside new craft cocktails tailored specifically for Los Mochis City. Wine and sake sommeliers will also be on hand to guide guests through the pairings that best complement their dishes.

Executive chef Leonard Tanyag, previously head chef at Okku Dubai, has curated a diverse menu blending Mexican and Japanese flavours. Guests can expect fan favourites from Notting Hill, including Truffle Guacamole on Crispy Rice, Spicy Hiramasa Maki and Trailer Park Chicken Taco. The sushi bar will offer an expanded sushi menu, including a selection of maki, nigiri and sashimi.

The 150-cover restaurant will also have a robata grill with 15 kushiyaki (grilled skewers) options, charred over an open fire, as well as make-your-own tacos, with fillings including Wagyu Grade 5 Tomahawk Steak and whole-roasted King Crab legs.

Thesleff says of the upcoming launch: "We're excited to be able to bring Los Mochis to Broadgate, as we have worked tirelessly to create something special. We can't wait to welcome guests through the doors and have a few surprises up our sleeves!"
