Alley Cats secures second location

A New York-style pizzeria has confirmed that its second location will launch on King's Road in Chelsea in early August. Alley Cats' new site will be part of the Sloane Stanley estate.

Building on the success of the brand's debut venue in Marylebone, which opened in December, the new pizzeria will deliver the same 14-inch pizzas and atmosphere, with head chef Francesco Macri at the helm.

As with the original pizzeria, Alley Cats Chelsea will transport diners across the pond to the Big Apple, celebrating the city's vibrant pizza scene and blending these influences with top-quality Italian produce. Using sweet San Marzano tomatoes, creamy Buffalo mozzarella from Campania and aged mozzarella from Molise, the thin and crispy pizzas have already gained a reputation with diners in London. 

Menu highlights include the Meatballs of beef and pork in slow-cooked tomato sauce with aged Parmesan and basil, and Candied Bacon, to start. For mains, pizza options include the Vodka Sauce crafted with four-hour slow-cooked vodka in creamy tomato sauce, topped with both aged and Buffalo mozzarella; and the Pepperoni dressed with tomato sauce, aged mozzarella, smoked pepperoni, jalapeño and honey; with white base pizzas including the Wild Mushroom with taleggio cheese, aged mozzarella, red onion jam and fried sage. 

A selection of desserts will also be offered, such as Tiramisu with pistachio, and classic vanilla soft serve with a range of toppings. Drinks include hand-crafted cocktails, along with wine and beer. 

The new Chelsea outpost will harbour a mix of central tables with gingham tablecloths and upcycled pew-style seating, with episodes of The Sopranos silently projected onto the exposed brick wall on an endless loop.
