Copenhagen's Gasoline Grill comes to The Standard
The Standard, London, is set to welcome Copenhagen's cult favourite smash burger restaurant, Gasoline Grill, for a four-week menu takeover this summer, delivered in partnership with Two Tribes Brewery.
Deemed a 'must-visit' foodie destination in Copenhagen, Gasoline Grill will be available outside of its hometown for the first time, bringing its viral burger concept to London from 12 August to 15 September.
The first Gasoline Grill opened quietly in 2016 inside an operational gas station on a side street in Copenhagen. It sold out on the first day and has continued to do so every day since. It has now amassed a cult following, being voted 'Best Burger in Europe' by Big 7 Travel, named one of Bloomberg's 27 Best Burgers in the World and dominating TikTok food pages. The restaurant now operates in seven locations across Copenhagen, including Strandgarde – the high-end food market curated by Noma Group.
Gasoline Grill in London
From 12 August, Londoners can enjoy a co-created menu available exclusively at The Standard's laid-back bar and terrace, Double Standard. The menu will feature the brand's tried and tested smash burgers, including The Original Burger, Cheeseburger, Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and a Vegetarian Burger, alongside a special Surf & Turf option, developed especially for The Standard. Crinkle-cut fries will be available on the side, while weekend brunch specials such as Hot Nashville Chicken Waffles, Blueberry Pancakes and a Strawberry and Jalapeño Michelada made with Two Tribes Lager will also be offered.
Klaus Wittrupp, founder of Gasoline Grill, says of the upcoming launch: "From day one, I have had an international vision for Gasoline Grill. When the chance to partner with The Standard London came along, it was a natural fit. The Standard is a top-tier, design-led hotel in one of the world's greatest cities, perfectly matching our values of quality and hospitality. We can't wait to bring our burgers to London and hope it inspires visits to our Copenhagen home."
