Mildreds set for grand reopening

London's iconic vegan restaurant brand Mildreds has confirmed the reopening of its Soho site following a major renovation.

The Grade II-listed heritage building, located on Lexington Street in Soho, closed two months ago to undergo a full refurbishment. The new design has created more space, including a second-floor 18-seater private dining area and event space.

The restaurant now accommodates dining over three floors, with individually designed spaces adorned with clashing colours, plants and artwork collated over the last 35 years. The building's exterior facia is now deep blue with orange window frames and Mildreds signage.

The bar has been extended and painted coral with red gloss trims, also featuring a modern Renaissance mural. Booth seating has been added, with each section of the restaurant decorated with different wallpaper and colour themes.

Mildreds will relaunch on Wednesday, 16 October, with a complimentary cocktail offered to all who dine at the Soho restaurant until 31 October.

The history of Mildreds

The restaurant first opened in 1988, serving vegetarian food to discerning inhabitants. Since then, the brand has become known worldwide as one of the most influential trailblazers of vegetarian and vegan cuisine.

Over the years, Mildreds has been frequented by famous faces such as Sir Paul McCartney, David Walliams, Anne Hathaway, Lars Ulrich, Pamela Anderson and more.

Fast forward over 35 years and Mildreds has expanded beyond its Soho base, with outposts in Covent Garden, Camden Town, Kings Cross, Dalston and Victoria.

Mildreds CEO, Sam Anstey, comments: "We've been trailblazers of plant-based food for decades and our home has always been Soho, the heart of London's most vibrant district. I am extremely proud to reopen Mildreds in Soho and after the refresh of our elegant Grade II listed townhouse site, I look forward to inviting back our loyal customers as well as new guests alike.

"The Lexington Street venue has been lovingly reimagined with bold colours, a gallery of special paintings and we've also created a separate floor for private events, ideal for Christmas get-togethers and intimate gatherings. Welcome back to the new Mildreds!"
