New Italian coming to Knightsbridge

Set to open in February 2025, ALBA, a new restaurant on Brompton Road, will bring a slice of the Italian coast to Knightsbridge.

The restaurant, designed by YODEZEEN, features a colour palette of olive shades of green and brown, lemon yellows and terracottas, complete with real citrus trees that will perfume the air, as well as a handmade Venetian floor. Drawing on Italy's alfresco dining culture, the design merges indoor and outdoor dining within the restaurant.

An open kitchen will sit at the heart of the space. There will also be a seafood display with mouthwatering produce, including lobster and langoustine, along with oysters, sea urchins, king crab and a range of fresh fish. The menu will change according to the season.

Dining at ALBA

Menu highlights will include la figliata di battipaglia, ‘a pregnant mozzarella’, as they call it in Campania – a rich, creamy, signature product of the region made with buffalo milk. Another will be culatello di zibello, or “little ass” in Italian – the finest cured meat with a protected designation of origin (DOP/PDO), exclusively crafted in eight towns within Parma's province.

Among the mains will be Amalfi staples, such as Rtisotto con gambero and saffron, and Sicilian carpaccio gambero rossi di mazara. Other Italian regions will be represented through dishes like tagliatelle with white Alba truffle, a Piedmontese classic. Desserts will include panettone tiramisu, as well as a range of Italian gelato, served table-side with a typically Italian sense of theatre.

The wine list will offer selections from France and Italy, while a range of cocktails will also be available from the restaurant's distinctive emerald marble bar.
