Gordon Ramsay eyes up Le Gavroche site

The Gordon Ramsay Restaurant Group is reportedly set to acquire Le Gavroche in London's Mayfair.
Established by Albert Roux and Michel Roux Sr in 1967, the restaurant was the UK's first to receive one, two and three Michelin stars. The classical French fine-dining institution moved to Brook Street in Mayfair in 1981, with Ramsay himself cooking in the kitchen in 1989.
Michel Roux Jr took over in 1991, but announced the venue's closure in January 2024 after 55 years.
Westminster Council records show that Union Street Café Limited, a company linked to Ramsay, has been granted a premises licence transfer for the iconic site.
It is rumoured that Matt Abé, former chef-patron at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, will take charge and oversee the kitchen.
The deal would mark another major achievement in what is shaping up to be a milestone year for the business, with Ramsay's largest project to date set to open at 22 Bishopsgate this month.
