The Hoxton announces Hot Plates guest chef series

This spring, The Hoxton will partner with gin brand Gin Mare to present Hot Plates – a kitchen takeover series dedicated to celebrating some of London’s most exciting up-and-coming gastronomic talent.

The Hoxton will present the three-week dinner series at its Southwark lobby restaurant Albie. A rotation of chefs will take to the pass throughout March and April, their meals accompanied by an exclusive range of premium gin-based cocktails.

The Hot Plates series

Helen Graham, ex-executive chef at Bubala, will kick things off on Friday, 21 March, cooking with rich Middle Eastern flavours and championing vegetarian ingredients. Her cocktail, The Spice Route, featuring gin, coconut cream, peppercorn marmalade and soda, will be paired with whole roasted cauliflower, bkeila cream, matchstick black lime fries and carrot, lemongrass and rosewater halva with pistachio and cashew.

Mother-daughter-duo Priya and Sudha, aka the Vegetarian Brown Girls, are next up on Friday, 28 March. Serving dishes from the west Indian state of Gujarat, their Ember and Herb gin cocktail – featuring tamarind, basil, chilli and lime – will be served alongside dishes including a crispy DIY pani puri sharing starter, vegetable samosas and parle g barfi sandwiches.

Uncle Hon's BBQ will round things off on Friday, 4 April, knocking up American barbecue dishes with a Chinese twist. The Ribs, Rake and Records gin cocktail will comprise Campari, soy sauce vermouth and smoked salt, accompanied by menu items including char siu Iberico pork ribs, pho spice ox cheek and Xian cumin pulled lamb shoulder, all served with cucumber salad, rice and pickle.

Tickets to the Hot Plates guest chef series at The Hoxton, priced at £45pp, can be purchased here
