Holy Carrot secures Spitalfields site

A restaurant known for its innovative approach to plant-based cuisine has secured a second location in Old Spitalfields Market. It will open in late 2025.

Created by Irina Linovich, Holy Carrot started as a successful pop-up in Knightsbridge in May 2021. This was followed by the launch of a flagship restaurant in Notting Hill in July 2024, with chef-owner Daniel Watkins at the helm.

Linovich and Watkins are committed to minimising the restaurant’s environmental footprint. They strive to use vegetables in interesting ways, through fire-based cookery or fermentation. In 2025, the original Portobello Road restaurant was added to the Michelin Guide.

The new venture will see the Holy Carrot concept evolve, with its design taking cues from the vibrancy of East London and the history of Spitalfields.

“I am thrilled to be bringing Holy Carrot to East London," says Linovich. "I have always felt the energy and community there is aligned with our vision, bursting with creativity, culture and forward-thinkers. East London has always been about reinvention, and we’re excited to add our own chapter to the story.”
