Operator needed for new Bradford food hall

Bradford Council is seeking an operating patner to manage a new food hall, launching as part of the multi-million pound Darley Street Market scheme in Bradford city centre which is currently under construction.

The multi-level market and food hall will occupy a large Darley Street site, accompanied by an outdoor square for concerts and events, forming part of the ongoing cultural and physical regeneration of Bradford city centre to boost its destination status as it bids to host the UK's City of Culture 2025.

Located on the upper level, the food hall with have a range of dine-in and takeaway food from local street and restaurant traders. Eleven brands offering a selection of world foods will reside in the space, along with two bars, a stage for day and night entertainment and seating for around 500 guests, both indoors and outdoors.

Bradford Council have released details of the venue and the available opportunities for prospective operators and traders. The Council is working with specialist foodservice consultancy Coverpoint to identify and secure an operating partner to act as master tenant of the space. This follows a similar and successful exercise in January where over 200 potential retailers registered their interest in becoming the market's selected traders.

Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, the Council's executive member for regeneration, planning and transport, comments: "The new Darley Street Market will help to transform the evening economy in this part of the city centre and will provide another area for community activity and events. The new food hall in the market will be an amazing destination that will fly the flag for a fresh, innovative and more sustainable approach to the food and beverage sector in the city centre."
