The Ninth in Fitzrovia to reopen next month

This March sees the return of Fitzrovia’s The Ninth restaurant after a kitchen fire left the venue closed for over seven months.

Chef-patron Jun Tanaka and his team will reopen The Ninth, now in its eighth year, on 9 March. Tanaka used the temporary closure as an opportunity to refresh the venue's interiors, from the leather banquettes to the bathrooms and invested in new tableware to bring a more contemporary feel to the guest experience.

On offer will be much-loved dishes from the menu such as salted beef cheek with sourdough, pickled radishes and dulse; langoustine ravioli with Merinda tomatoes and the signature pain perdu with tonka bean ice cream. These sit alongside new dishes such as tuna belly, Mojama and anchovy vinaigrette; venison tartare, Jerusalem artichokes and sour plums; and pork cheek tortellini with lardo and salsa verde.

The same kitchen and front-of-house team from prior to the closure remain in place, with some additional team members joining the fold. The Ninth previously ranked as one of the highest restaurants in the UK in the Best Places To Work In Hospitality awards.

The Ninth will reopen on the 9 March for dinner, and for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday from 10 March.
