Chotto Matte coming to Georgia in 2024

Japanese-Peruvian fusion concept Chotto Matte is furthering its international presence with the launch of a brand-new restaurant at the Central Park Towers development in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The first in a line-up of operators to be announced as part of a consultancy project with Worth My Salt's Nigel Smith, Chotto Matte Tbilisi will launch in early 2024.

The opening will be the 10th location for Chotto Matte, with the brand having established sites in London, Manchester and further afield in the US. The concept was launched in London in 2013 by restaurateur Kurt Zdesar, celebrating authentic Nikkei cuisine.

Chotto Matte Tbilisi will occupy a rooftop site in the building, set across two floors measuring 140,000 sq metres and with sweeping views of the city. The Central Park Towers complex – comprising two towers, 1,398 rooms and suites, a concert arena, the largest casino in Georgia, a luxury shopping mall, a spa and wellness centre and various high-end restaurants – is set to open in May.

Zdesar says of the upcoming launch: "The Central Park Towers resort is set to epitomise modern luxury, revolutionising the landscape of Georgia and setting a new standard in both aesthetic and experience. I'm thrilled that Chotto Matte will be a key player in this transformative epoch for the city."
