Wagamama announces first ever brunch menu

A Pan-Asian restaurant chain is venturing into brunch for the first time ever.

Launching on 17 July, the Wagamama brunch will be served at selected sites from 8.30am to 11.30am, the earliest the brand has ever opened its doors to guests. The brunch menu will be offered across 22 key locations in London, as well as the North and South of the UK.

The menu will feature a range of smaller, larger and sharing dishes. Highlights include the chicken katsu waffle, which can be either sweet or savoury, with guests opting for either the classic katsu sauce or a miso caramel vegan ice cream with rich toffee sauce. A banana katsu waffle plant-based alternative will also be available.

Inspired by customer demand for bao buns, Wagamama has created a series of 'morning bao', filled with a choice of bacon, sausage, vegan bacon or vegan sausage. The menu will also include sides such as Japanese-style corn fritters and bang bang hash browns.

London-based coffee brand Grind will provide the beans for coffee, with the chain also offering a selection of cocktails and mocktails to complete the brunch experience.

Kay Bartlett, chief marketing officer at Wagamama, comments: "We've seen an increase in the consumer demand for an all-day dining offering and appetite for brunch dishes. This announcement is in response to that, and we're thrilled to introduce our Wagamama take on brunch. The decision to open our restaurants at 8.30am has involved a great amount of hard work and dedication from our brilliant teams and we're really proud and excited about this latest round of innovation and chapter in the Wagamama story."
